WPY2015092561 - White Pass & Yukon, Skagway, AK, 9/2015
Led by 2-8-2 #73 we have completed our ride on the White Pass & Yukon Route narrow gauge Fraser Meadow Excursion Train and returned to Skagway, AK, 9/7/2015.
#73 will pull the train into the station where some passengers will offload. Then the train will be backed out to Skagway Junction and the proceed to the Ore Dock where passengers returing to their cruise ship Silver Shadow will unload.
Built by Baldwin Locomotive Works for the White Pass & Yukon, in 1947, #73 was the last steam engine built by Baldwin. It was retired from service on the White Pass in 1964, but was restored and returned to service in 1982. It is in daily service.
