GE1989100011 - General Electric, Boston, MA, 10-1989
General Elctric Super 7 B23 2002 on display at the annual ASLRRA convention in Boston, MA, 10-3-1989. GE was trying to make a dent in the shortline railroad locomotive market which was dominated by EMD. Also, GE's attempt were to basically fail. Many of the "shortliners" budgets couldn't afford a "new" locomotive such as 2002, plus the ease of operations and maintenance of EMD over GE was a major plus for the smaller railroads.
