Shortly after returning from Saudi in September 1986 I accepted the position of General Manager of the new shortline - Louisiana & Delta. GWI was acquiring some of SP's branch lines in Louisiana and I was responsible for staffing, equipment acquisition, training and starting up LDRR. I managed LDRR successfully for 14 years at which time I left and became General Manager of the Arizona Eastern in Globe, AZ.

Louisiana & Delta has found a “niche” contract car repair market for making medium and project type repairs to some of our customers’ cars. By performing these repairs we accomplish two goals: (1) Assist our customers in keeping their cars “in the flow” rather than sending them to another shop and lose them for 45-90 days, (2) gain extra car repair revenue for L & D.
