Louisiana & Delta
Shortly after returning from Saudi in September 1986 I accepted the position of General Manager of the new shortline - Louisiana & Delta. GWI was acquiring some of SP's branch lines in Louisiana and I was responsible for staffing, equipment acquisition, training and starting up LDRR. I managed LDRR successfully for 14 years at which time I left and became General Manager of the Arizona Eastern in Globe, AZ.

LD1987060003 - Louisiana & Delta, New Iberia, LA, 6/1987
Jon NI1 on the Pesson Spur. The track was primarily 60-75# rail with poort tie condition. To make matters worse, the line was in the sugar cane fields/swamp. LDRR operated with the track like this frtom start up in 1987 until it was rehabbed with matching FRA funs in late 1990.
